A Familiar Name Takes the Mic at This Month’s NRC Luncheon

If you’re ever looking for a solid way to stay plugged into what’s happening in Nevada politics, this event has been recommended for years.

The Nevada Republican Club hosts monthly luncheons on the first Tuesday of each month at the Ahern Hotel and Convention Center in Las Vegas.

The next luncheon will include remarks from Victoria Seaman, whose career has spanned city government, the Nevada Legislature, federal service, and the private sector.

Doors open at 11:00 a.m., with informal business networking until noon. That’s when people catch up, swap stories, and make connections.

Around noon the program begins.

Each luncheon features a guest speaker who shares insights on conservative government and business issues.

Typically the club also introduces all attending Republican elected officials and candidates, giving folks a chance to see – and often personally meet – the people representing them at every level of government.

Seaman currently serves as Regional Director for Region 8 at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Before that, she represented Ward 2 on the Las Vegas City Council, where she was re-elected in 2022.

During her time at City Hall, she worked on committees dealing with audits, debt, water issues, and Yucca Mountain.

She chaired the Audit Committee and served on several others, including the Debt Committee and Southern Nevada Water Authority as an alternate.

Before City Council, Seaman served in the Nevada State Legislature representing Assembly District 34.

There, she held leadership roles as Southern Majority Whip and Vice Chair of Commerce and Labor. She also served on Judiciary and Legislative Operations and chaired the HOA Subcommittee.

The luncheon wraps up around 1:00 p.m., though many attendees typically stay afterward to mingle and continue conversations.

Advance ticket pricing is $40 for members and $45 for non-members. Walk-ins are welcome on a space-available basis, though walk-in tickets are $5 higher for both members and non-members.
