It's official: the C Street house is no longer tax exempt.
Never has there been so much excitement about a tax story as that surrounding the DC house owned and operated by the super-secretive “Family.” According to the Washington Post, the house became partially taxable as of August 1, following a city investigation which found that parts of the house were being rented for residential purposes and only 34% was tax-exempt for religious reasons.
