Altman Kicks Off School Board Campaign

(Campaign To Elect Barbara Altman) – Barbara Altman, candidate for Clark County School Board District F, kicked off her campaign last week at the Captain’s Cove Restaurant. Laying out her vision to a room full of supporters, Barbara described her plan of increasing Empowerment School progress throughout Clark County.

“Empowerment schools put the power to maintain budgets, evaluate teachers, and use innovation in the classroom with the school staff, not administrators. By working together, the staff within an empowerment school work as a team for the success of their students,” Barbara Altman said.

Additionally, Barbara outlined the need for increased transparency within the CCSD. This includes expanding the hours of school board meetings for parents that work during current meeting times. Also, by putting an easy to understand description of all expenses incurred by the CCSD online, taxpayers can maintain oversight of their tax dollars.

Barbara said, “Transparency in, transparency out is my motto. I believe the taxpayers have a right to know where every dollar is going when it comes to the education of the children of Clark County.”
