Another Child Hit By Car on a Scooter in Las Vegas. Parents Are Fed Up.

Another child riding a scooter was hit by a car Wednesday afternoon in the far northwest part of the Las Vegas valley.

It happened around 2:44 p.m. near Bradley Road and Farm Road, an area where many families live and kids often play outside.

LVMPD classified the case as a vehicle versus pedestrian crash involving a juvenile. Because the person hit is a child, police haven’t released the age or name.

What we know so far is that the child was taken to a hospital with injuries that doctors say are not life-threatening. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers.

Police have not said whether speed, visibility or a mistake by either party played a part in the crash. It’s still an active investigation, and there is no information yet about possible citations or charges.

The Rising Number of Crashes

Parents all over the valley are watching this case closely, because accidents like this aren’t rare anymore.

Las Vegas has seen a rise in scooter and bike crashes involving kids in the past year, with electric ones being particularly dangerous.

In October 2025, two young kids riding together on an e-scooter crashed into a pickup truck. The children were only 9 and 10.

The 10-year-old died. The younger child survived but had to be hospitalized.

The Clark County School District has reported a big increase in child pedestrian crashes during the 2025 to 2026 school year.

CCSD has urged parents to talk with their kids about staying alert and following basic safety rules.

They’ve also asked drivers to slow down in neighborhoods and school zones.

Many residents say these accidents keep happening while local leaders drag their feet.

Nevada business leader Guy Nohra, reacted saying, “This needs to stop.”

Another Vegas local, Bruce, wrote:
“I’m on local roads daily! I see kids riding double on these dangerous scooters, most are dressed in dark clothes to look cool. Very difficult to see them. The majority of wheelchairs have no safety features, scooter riders & wheelchair riders on cellphones, & nothing being done.”

What This Means for Local Parents

We teach our kids to look both ways. We expect drivers to obey the law.

And we expect the government we fund to focus on real public safety instead of getting distracted by political side shows.

Crosswalk lights, sidewalk repairs, school patrols, and working traffic signals, while not as flashy as issues like immigration or the economy, do still matter.

A driver slowing down for one extra second can make all the difference.

LVMPD’s investigation is still underway, and more details will come out once officers piece together exactly what happened.

For now, police and local media are urging families to be careful.

Kids need to watch for cars. Drivers need to watch for kids. It’s that simple.

We hope the child involved on Wednesday recovers fully. Remind your kids to stay safe, and remember yourself to drive with care.

In a city like Las Vegas, it takes all of us working together to keep our streets safe.
