Dina Titus Continues To Put Politics First

Dina Titus Continues To Put Politics First

(UNLVCR) – Today, the UNLV College Republicans are drawing attention to what they call perennial candidate Dina Titus’ continued lack of integrity. According to the students, following an unsubstantiated accusation against the organization on Jon Ralston’s Face to Face, Titus has broken her word again, canceling a Nuclear Policy course just two weeks before the start of the semester, leaving students scrambling at the last minute to fill their fall schedules. Following her $162,000 buyout, she was set to receive $3,000 to teach the lone class on a part-time basis.

“Dina Titus’ history of putting her political career first, and making false allegations of her detractors, especially those who are UNLV students, is indefensible,” said Thomas McAllister, Senior Vice President of the UNLVCRs. “The students she has falsely accused, as well as the voters whose support she seeks, deserve better.”

McAllister cites canceled classes, a radio show, a voluntary buyout, and her position on the U.S. Civil Rights Commission as evidence that Titus is putting her political career ahead of other responsibilities.

“Dr. Titus has canceled three classes this year, quit her radio show, walked away from UNLV, and abandoned her position on the U.S. Civil Rights Commission just seven months after her appointment by Senator Harry Reid, all in an ego-driven quest to return to Congress and advocate for more big government legislation,” McAllister continued. “The only good news is now that she has severed all ties with UNLV, she will no longer be a direct beneficiary of the largesse she supports.”
