Everything You Need to Know About Nevada’s New School Choice Program

(John Tsarpalas) – We have exciting news for education freedom advocates in Nevada.

Governor Joe Lombardo has officially opted Nevada into the federal school choice tax credit program created by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

This decision positions Nevada to participate in a new federal tax credit initiative that will expand educational options for families across the state. Details from federal and state authorities are still being released, and we will share updates as they become available.

To help you understand this historic development and make use of it, Nevada Policy has launched the Federal School Choice Tax Credit Resource Kit — a comprehensive guide designed to be your one-stop resource for this new program.

The goal of this resource kit is to support every stakeholder involved, including:

  • Parents and families, who want clarity on eligibility and how scholarships work
  • Donors, so you understand how the federal tax credit functions and how contributions make an impact
  • Schools and education providers, looking to serve students through scholarship opportunities
  • Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs), which will administer the scholarships under the program

As this is a newly adopted federal program, the toolkit will be updated regularly with the latest information. Our aim is to keep this page current as federal guidance and state implementation details are released.

We encourage you to share the resource kit page with families, donors, school leaders, and others who need trustworthy information about this opportunity. Your help spreading the word can make a big difference in how quickly Nevadans benefit from this new option.

Thank you for your continued support of expanding educational opportunity in Nevada.
