Hey, Nevadans, Harry Says Things are Great!

Hey, Nevadans, Harry Says Things are Great!
Chuck Muth
March 6, 2010

(Mark Noonan) – And you were all worried about casino bankruptcies, collapsing home prices, education cutbacks and $800 million dollar budget short falls. Silly people – don’t you know our man Reid is on the job? Here’s what he has to say about our economy:

“Today is a big day in America. Only 36,000 people lost their jobs which is really good.”

Its really good we only lost 36,000 jobs. After all, Reid, Pelosi and Obama are responsible for policies which have cost us millions of jobs, so a 36,000 loss is like Reid scoring a touchdown…in a game we’re down 42-3.

Do we need any more proof that this man is entirely out of touch? That our political class is living in an entirely different world?

This is what we get when we have people, like Harry Reid, who have been in office for decades. In office for decades and very curiously have become fabulously wealthy while “serving” the people. It is no surprise that Reid has such a tin ear – that he thinks we’d be pleased to “only” lose 36,000. And that leaves aside the fact that we know he’s pushing bogus numbers: census hiring has given a temporary boost to the jobs market.

As we Nevadans drive down our streets and see foreclosed house after foreclosed house and closed business after closed business, we know the truth. We know that our economy is in terrible shape and all of Reid’s numbers happy talk isn’t going to make it better.

There is only one sure cure for what ails Nevada – increase unemployment by one person on November 2nd.
