Yesterday, my friend Chuck Muth wrote this article. Click on his site and read it. I am not going to “carp” his traffic (market-makers will know what that means).
If you aren’t familiar with Nevada, Chuck has done a lot of work in politics. He is an excellent marketer. He is on X. I somehow found him when I was looking for news on Nevada politics.
A couple of people found this blog, and since then, we have hooked up on beer crawls and other events.
Chuck also runs the Pigpen Project. I door-knocked for it last year. I went around my neighborhood with a local woman whom I enjoy talking to. She and her husband have been politically active, and she’s fun.
We talk an awful lot about politics these days, everywhere. Sometimes, you have to get into the gun fight, and I am considering it. It should be a process.
I have been talking to a lot of people since last October. I ask a lot of questions. I listen. I ask more questions. People have been incredibly helpful, and boy, am I grateful that they take the time to talk to me.
I have learned a lot. I have a lot more to learn.
Believe me when I tell you it is an education. I will blog about the things I can blog about when the time is right.
Let’s set the table. Most people watch the news, follow stuff on social media, and think they know the political game. There is so much more to it. There are lots of moving parts.
Some are regulatory on a state or federal level. Some are financial. Some are legal. Different states are different, and so are local, state, and federal races. It is amazing.
One friend of mine was so great. They talked to me, asked me questions, and they know of resources you can do at your own pace to figure things out that I am doing.
It has been pretty good so far, but I have a lot more to do. I have been out meeting people individually to listen and learn. It’s not a bullshit Hillary Clinton “listening” campaign; I truly am listening and learning.
I have two questions for anyone reading this, whether you are new or old.
- Have you ever thought of running for political office? Did you do it? Why and what happened, and what did you learn? Did you win or lose your race? Why? If you decided not to do it, why? What was your stopping block?
- If you are a citizen like me and on the fence, what do you want to know?
Tell me what you think.
