(Lake for Congress Campaign) – Craig Lake, candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in District 1 of Nevada in 2010, signed the ATR Taxpayer Protection Pledge at the Citizen Outreach’s monthly First Friday event at Stoney’s last Friday.
In doing so he became the first candidate from District 1 to sign the pledge for the upcoming election in 2010, and committed to help defend Southern Nevadans against the out of control tax and spend policies being employed in Washington D.C.
Americans for Tax Reform and the Taxpayer Pledge opposes all tax increases as a matter of principle. The pledge specifically states that the candidate will oppose any legislation or efforts to increase the marginal income tax rates for individuals and/or businesses. Grant Hewitt from Red Point Strategies and Karri Bragg of the Citizen Outreach Foundation witnessed the signing of the pledge.
“I wanted to sign the Taxpayer Protection pledge as soon as I could to let local tax payers know that when it comes to raising taxes, the answer is no,” said Craig Lake. “When the people in Washington learn how to spend OUR money and stop rewarding special interests they can ask Americans to raise their taxes again. Until then, they need to learn to manage their resources better for the American People.”
