MUTH’S TRUTHS

From the Department of You Can’t Make This Up

Wonderful Veterans Day parade in Las Vegas this morning – the biggest such tribute to vets west of the Mississippi – with Army veteran Gov. Joe Lombardo featured as the event’s first-ever Grand Marshall.

Then came the turd in the punchbowl.

I was sitting in the reviewing stand with parade host and master-of-ceremonies Alan Stock – talk-show host extraordinaire on KXNT. And after the last of some 160 entries passed by, along waddles Democrat Rep. Dina Titus.

Turns out, she didn’t register and pay to be in the parade and just hopped in the back of the line and followed the last entry. Naturally, since she wasn’t on the prepared list of entries, she wasn’t announced.

Nevertheless, one of her loud-mouth supporters started berating Alan, shouting, “Democrats are veterans, too!”

Which, of course, wasn’t the point and not in dispute. Titus wasn’t recognized simply because she snuck in without paying and her name wasn’t on the list.

How embarrassing…and how typically Titus. What an entitlement mentality.

In other news…

Assemblyman P.K. O’Neill has a brilliant plan to get a school choice proposal before the Legislature later this week even if Gov. Lombardo doesn’t put it on the official special session agenda.
