MUTH’S TRUTHS

The natives are restless.

Conservatives are understandably not happy with the special session of the Nevada Legislature that starts today for two main reasons:

1.) The agenda items don’t include two issues near and dear to conservative hearts: school choice and election reform.

2.) As noted by former conservative Assemblywoman Annie Black in an article below, the agenda includes items that don’t constitute true emergencies – which starts Nevada down a slippery slope toward annual sessions.

And while outgoing Assemblyman P.K. O’Neill proposed earlier this week that GOP votes for the Hollywood studio should be conditioned on restoring Opportunity Scholarships to its original level, he’s now abandoned the push under pressure.

All talk, no action. As usual.

Gov. Lombardo needs more Republicans in Carson City to back him up. That means Republican candidates and consultants in swing districts need to start running better campaigns.

And conservatives need more CONSERVATIVE Republicans who are willing to fight instead of rolling over in the Legislature. That’s what GOP primaries in GOP districts are for.

Keep a close eye on Republicans in Republican districts who vote for the Hollywood studio without getting some measure of school choice in return. It might be time for an upgrade.
