MUTH’S TRUTHS

Pretty sh*tty day yesterday – which contributed to getting this newsletter out so late today.

First, I was informed by our insurance company that the illegal alien who rear-ended my son a couple weeks ago totaled our car and we still don’t know if the other driver has insurance.

Either way, looks like we’re going to be stuck having to buy a new (used) car.

Secondly, I got a text from my daughter that after she got home late the night before – after covering a fundraising event for Texas Attorney General and U.S. Senate candidate Ken Paxton (see story below) – she and my son-in-law went into the house, let the dog out, changed clothes and grabbed a late-night snack.

Austin later went out to their car to grab Kristen’s backpack, only to find someone had broken into the vehicle and stolen it. She lost her laptop, camera, audio equipment and her DIABETES MEDICINE.

They filed a police report – but were told the odds were they’d never catch the thieves. However, Austin later remembered that the computer had a tracking device installed and got a “hit.” It was at a house a couple blocks away.

The good news is Metro police officers went to the home – characterized as a “meth house” that the officers were already aware of – and retrieved the computer and some of the other stolen items – and made some arrests.

Thank you, Sheriff McMahill and the officers involved. We Back the Blue!

But then things turned REALLY bad.

As I do almost every day, I took my best friend, Koda, to the dog park after lunch. And after a pit bull owner who was already there assured me his dog got along fine with other dogs, the freaking monster viciously attacked Koda, immediately going right for his throat.

I was able to separate the dogs – and the jackass pit bull owner took his dog out of the park. Koda was limping and yelping, holding his right paw up – clearly in a lot of pain. I had to pick him up to put him back in my car.

When we got home, my daughter noticed he also had a deep puncture wound in his chest from a bite. She cleaned it best she could and helped me get him back in the car for a trip to the vet.

Long story short, in addition to the puncture wound, Koda’s paw was badly sprained (thankfully, not broken), and he has pulled or torn muscles from trying to fight off the attack.

The vet loaded him up with antibiotics and pain killers – and he should be OK in a few days as long as no complications set in.

I did get photos of the pit bull, its owner, their car, and license plate number and will be filing a report with animal control.

The guy never apologized, never asked if my dog was OK, and proceeded to cuss ME out when he noticed I was taking photos. I hope they catch the b*stard.

Now, I’m not yet at the point of supporting taking all pit bull puppies, loading them in burlap sacks, and drowning them in a river at birth – but I’m close.

This was the second time a pit bull attacked Koda at the same off-leash dog park and I’m done with this crap about blaming “the owner not the breed.”

It seems that every time I’m at a dog park and a fight breaks out – a freaking pit bull is involved. And even the ones that usually interact well with other dogs can snap at any moment, without warning.

Sorry, but there should be a ban on pit bulls at off-leash parks, just as many campgrounds don’t allow pit bulls in their facilities. The risk is just too damn high.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming . . .

  • “I joined the army when I was 17-years-old and have taken care of myself my entire life without any financial help from anyone – so I’m immune to all the crying (over SNAP benefits). When I was broke, which was many years, I ate peanut butter sandwiches for weeks. If that. I was even homeless, one time living in a tent by a lake for months. Not once during this time, did I think the government was responsible, or look to the government for solutions, or blame rich people. Or ask for a handout. Every bad place I’ve been in my life is because of bad decisions I’ve made. It was my fault and my fault alone. I’m financially successful now because of hard work. People who constantly blame others because they’re not successful will never be succeed. Stop whining, stop looking for the government handouts and solutions to save you, stop being jealous of successful people, go to work, and figure it out.” – @catturd2
