Nevada’s Libs are Coming for Your Home, Your Kids, and Your Wallet – Again!

(Jill Douglass) – Here we go again.

The folks over at Battle Born Progress, Silver State Equality, and the Nevada Housing Justice Alliance are back at it – demanding more government intervention, more regulations, and more taxpayer-funded handouts.

Because, naturally, they know what’s best for everyone.

And if you dare to disagree, well, you must be some kind of heartless monster.

First on their wish list: even more “protections” for so-called gender-affirming care. You know, the procedures and drugs that permanently alter kids’ bodies under the guise of “saving lives.”

Because nothing says “bodily autonomy” like pushing life-altering hormones and surgeries on children who aren’t even allowed to get a tattoo or buy a beer.

But don’t worry, they assure us – it’s all with “parental involvement and consent.”

Sure. Because we’ve never seen activist doctors and school officials push parents out of the picture before, right?

And let’s not forget the “book bans” hysteria.

According to these groups, allowing parents to have a say in what their kids are exposed to in schools is the same as censorship. Apparently, if a school removes a book featuring explicit content from its elementary library, democracy dies.

Funny how these same progressives don’t seem too worried about actual government censorship – like when social media companies (under pressure from the feds) silence opposing views.

That kind of censorship? Totally fine!

But the best part? Their outrage over Nevada’s housing market.

Rent is too high, they cry! Evictions are too easy, they wail! Their solution? More government control, of course. Because when has overregulation ever caused a housing crisis?

Oh, that’s right—places like San Francisco and New York, where rent control and heavy-handed tenant laws have made things worse, not better.

Gov. Joe Lombardo did the right thing last session by vetoing bills that would have turned landlords into government scapegoats. And progressives still can’t handle it.

They want to bring back these failed ideas – “rent stabilization” (a fancy way of saying price controls) and making it harder for landlords to remove non-paying tenants.

Because why should landlords have any rights to their own property?

In their world, if you own a rental property, you’re basically an evil capitalist overlord who deserves to suffer while tenants get to live rent-free.

And let’s talk about those “skyrocketing” utility bills. You know, the ones progressives are now blaming on climate change.

Not on the green energy policies they keep pushing, which make reliable energy more expensive. Not on the constant push for solar mandates and energy restrictions that drive costs up for working families.

Nope. It’s the fault of greedy corporations, and only government intervention can save us!

Progressives love to play the “it’s not about party lines” card. As if demanding bigger government, more handouts, and fewer property rights is just common sense.

But their real message is clear: if you don’t support their radical agenda, you’re against “the people.” Never mind the working-class Nevadans who actually bear the cost of all these terrible policies.

The bottom line?

If these groups get their way, life in Nevada will get even more expensive, landlords will have no rights, and your kids will be exposed to radical ideology in schools with no say from you.

But hey, at least progressives will feel good about themselves. And isn’t that what really matters?
