Our party’s past, is exactly that –past. It is time to look to the future, to try things we have never done before.
I am running for Nevada Republican Party Chairman to help take back the White House, our Senate seat and build on the gains we have made locally.
I have a plan and a proven track-record of pulling off what was considered impossible. I cannot do it alone. I need your help and support. I am ready to work hard for our families and to do my part to get us back on the right track.
Our past leadership did its best with the resources available. Now it is time to get creative, aggressive and establish the Nevada Republican Party as the dominant political force in the state of Nevada. We will once again be relevant.
I have been traveling throughout Nevada for years. I have come to know that our state is made up of three distinct Nevadas. Western Nevada, Southern Nevada and Rural Nevada are distinctly different but function as a unique, cohesive unit. In spending additional time with individuals within each of the Nevadas this year, I have benefited from the opportunity to see many of the similarities and the differences that when pieced together properly will aid us in our success.
It may take years to accomplish our goals and we will need leaders who will be with us until those goals are met. We need to build our numbers by adding to the existing pool of talented involved people. We need to reach out to new people, including the youth of our communities who will add energy to our efforts.
We must return to our roots and accomplish those tasks best suited to a statewide political party: recruit quality candidates for office; be the essential source of information; go on the offensive with the truth about our opponents; develop and support volunteer efforts in the counties; offer coordination to counties and campaigns; register voters; and get voters to the polls on election day.
We must be the resource our elected officials rely on so they can do the business for which they were elected.
(Mr. Phillips is currently the Political Director for the Clark County Republican Party.)
