(Lori Piotrowski) – The Spring Mountain Republican Women (SMRW) are offering a $1,000 scholarship to one well-deserving woman in honor of the 100th anniversary of President Reagan’s birth.

Betty Rumford, president of the SMRW, explained that the scholarship is open to any registered Republican woman 18 years of age by 2012 attending an accredited institution of higher education and working toward a degree.

“The application is easy,” she continued. “All they need to do is write a 500-word essay based on one of Reagan’s quotes.”

The application process will close on October 27, 2011 at midnight.

To obtain an application packet, please contact Judy Rebholz, scholarship chair, at jrebz@cox.net. The packet will provide details about eligibility requirements, application forms, essay theme, and instructions.

Rumford concluded, “This is a chance for Spring Mountain Republican Women to give a helping hand to another Republican woman.”
