(Bill Parson) – On Thursday morning, our Nevada Lieutenant Governor Brian K. Krolicki almost announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate on Alan Stock’s radio program, but he continues to drag it out as he and his family make a final decision.
As many of you are aware, he has been fighting an unjust charge of financial irresponsibility over the last year. Fortunately these charges have been proven to be baseless. I, like many Nevadans, am thankful that this unfounded attack has been closed and placed behind the Lieutenant Governor, his family, and the citizens of this State.
I am a life-long Republican with a continual deep commitment to strict Constitutional interpretation and governance, the Sovereignty of the individual 50 States, individual liberty and freedom, and fiscal sound policy. These are issues that most of the candidates for the Nevada U.S. seat are now paying homage to; but to what depth is their commitment to these values?
As a long-term cynic who has observed people in positions of power for more than 40 years, often in surprisingly close proximity for someone who has never run for office, I suspect that the commitment level to these values is directly proportional to their ability to articulate these same values beyond short sound bytes; and their commitment is directly tied to their level and detail of writing on these issues to date.
As a candidate running for the same seat, I must rhetorically ask some simple questions. Questions that you might also be asking yourself:
1. Why did he previously state he would not run for the U.S. Senate seat?
2. Why did he wait until now to almost declare?
3. If he intends to run, why can’t he just say so?
4. Why did he previously declare and announce that he would run once again for Lieutenant Governor, but now is posturing to revoke that announcement?
5. Is his commitment to run limited to a calculated evaluation of the end result and expectation of national Republican support in the primary race against other Republican candidates, or is he truly dedicated to representing the values of citizens of this state?
There are 139 days until the Nevada primary election on June the 8th, 2010. This date is the most important date in our country’s immediate future, for it will decide who is selected by Nevadans to replace Harry Reid in the U.S. Senate. It will also determine if we as a nation are prepared to return to:
• True Constitutional governance
• Restore State Sovereignty
• Restore lost individual Liberty and Freedoms
• Implement sound fiscal policy within the Federal Government
The alternative is that we once again seek representation from those who have made their life’s work that of being a career politician rather than serving as citizen legislators who are committed to serving their family, community, and country. This is a unique period in time where our nation’s future is in the hands of the people of Nevada, and they will make that choice on June 8, 2010. I pray that the choice will finally be the right choice.
