Here we go again. Another vote in Washington, and once again Nevada’s Rep. Susie Lee is on the wrong side of it.
This time, it’s not some complicated budget bill or obscure regulation.
It’s about protecting police dogs. The same K-9 units that track down dangerous suspects, sniff out explosives, and help keep officers and the public safe.
And yet, Susie Lee voted against a bill that would punish illegal immigrants who injure or kill these working dogs.

Let that sink in for a second.
These dogs aren’t pets. They’re trained officers.
They’re often the first line of defense in risky situations. When something goes wrong, they’re the ones sent in first to protect human lives.
But when it came time to stand up for them, Lee voted no.
The Democrats just decided to officially become the party of PUNCHING PUPPIES.
190 Democrats just voted to give illegal immigrants the RIGHT TO PHYSICALLY ABUSE American service dogs — serving with law enforcement protecting American citizens.
The level Democrats will go to…

Dogs That Do the Dangerous Work
Police dogs play a critical role in law enforcement across the country, including right here in Nevada.
Metro Police in Las Vegas rely on K-9 units for everything from tracking suspects to detecting drugs and explosives.
These animals are trained for years. They cost tens of thousands of dollars to prepare for service. And more importantly, they save lives.
When a criminal attacks one of these dogs, it usually means that dog was protecting an officer or stopping a dangerous suspect.
That’s why many Americans believe harming a police dog should carry serious consequences. But that’s not how Susie Lee sees it.
Another Vote Raising Questions
This vote didn’t happen in a vacuum. Just one day earlier, Lee also voted against the Deporting Fraudsters Act.
That bill would have targeted illegal immigrants who abuse taxpayer-funded programs like Social Security and Medicare.
So within 48 hours, Lee voted against punishing fraud and against protecting law enforcement animals.
That’s a pattern that’s hard to ignore.
The National Republican Congressional Committee didn’t hold back.
“Dina Titus, Susie Lee, and Stephen Horsford couldn’t even bring themselves to punish illegal immigrants who attack law enforcement dogs,” said NRCC spokesman Christian Martinez. “These animals put their lives on the line to protect Americans, and they sided with the criminals who harm them. It’s indefensible.”
That’s strong language. But it reflects growing frustration among voters who feel like public safety is taking a back seat.
And to most voters this is simple: If someone attacks a police dog, especially during a crime, there should be consequences.
No loopholes. No excuses.
Why This Matters in Nevada
This isn’t just a Washington issue. It hits close to home.
Las Vegas has seen its share of crime concerns in recent years. Law enforcement officers already face tough conditions. K-9 units help give them an edge and keep situations from turning deadly.
When elected officials vote against measures tied to public safety, people notice. And they remember.
Voters in Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District aren’t just watching speeches or campaign ads. They’re watching votes like this. Votes that raise a simple question:
Who are you standing with?
Because from where many Nevadans are sitting, this looks like another case of putting politics ahead of common sense.
