Democrats have a favorite trick. Say something scary. Repeat it loudly. Hope nobody checks.
That’s exactly what Nevada Rep. Susie Lee did (again) yesterday.
On X, Lee claimed that while abortion is legal in Nevada, women across the country “do not have the freedom to make their own medical decisions” and that Roe must be restored as federal law.
Sounds dramatic. Sounds urgent.
Sounds… wrong.
The Claim That Sounds Good but Falls Apart Fast
Let’s start with the basics.
Abortion is legal in Nevada. Period. It’s not hanging by a thread. It’s not temporary. It’s not up to some politician’s mood.
Nevada voters locked it into state law back in 1990 through a statewide referendum. That means only the voters can undo it.
Not Congress. Not the courts. Not Susie Lee.
So when Lee tells Nevadans that women don’t have medical freedom, she’s saying it in a state where women literally do have it.
That’s not a warning. That’s a lie.
What They’re Not Telling You on Purpose
Here’s the part Democrats never want to say out loud.
The Supreme Court didn’t ban abortion. It didn’t outlaw anything. It didn’t take away state laws. It sent the issue back to the states.
You know. The people. The voters.
In Nevada, the voters have already decided. And they decided clearly.
So when Lee talks about “restoring Roe,” what she’s really saying is that she wants Washington, D.C. to override state voters and impose one national rule.
That’s not freedom. That’s control with better marketing.
The Word Games Are the Whole Strategy
Notice how Democrats use loaded language.
They say “freedom” when they mean federal power.
They say “medical decisions” when they mean one procedure.
They say “rights are gone” even when the law didn’t change at all.
It’s designed to confuse people who don’t have time to dig through the details.
Fear first. Facts later. If ever.
A Reality Check from a Nevada Woman
Republican Assembly candidate Erica Neely cut through the nonsense with one short tweet that says more than a thousand press releases:
“As a woman in Nevada, I have the freedom to make my own medical decisions. You know when I didn’t have medical freedom? During the COVID shot mandates. Please stop with the nonsense.”
That’s the part Democrats really don’t want to talk about.
Because during COVID, it wasn’t conservatives forcing medical choices. It was Democrats.
Mandates. Threats. Job losses.
Suddenly, bodily autonomy didn’t matter so much.
Funny how that works.
The Nevada Angle They Can’t Spin Away
Nevada families don’t need lectures from Washington about freedom.
They remember lockdowns. They remember mandates. They remember being told “do this or else.”
And they also know this: Nevada law already protects abortion access. No emergency exists here.
So when Susie Lee sounds the alarm, she’s not defending Nevada women. She’s fundraising. She’s posturing. She’s selling fear in a state where her story doesn’t fit the facts.
If abortion is legal in Nevada – and it is – then telling Nevada women they’ve lost medical freedom is false.
If the issue is with other states, then the honest debate is about federal power versus state voters. Not fake panic.
So here’s the real question: If Democrats have to ignore reality to make their case, what does that say about the case itself?
