(Joe Heck) – We’re four months into the year, and the race for 2016 has already begun.
In just the last week, I learned that Hillary Clinton is coming to Nevada tomorrow to energize the Democrats, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is starting digital ads against me already, and they may have found their recruit to run against me in CD3.
I, on the other hand, have spent the past four months continuing to work towards a better Nevada and a better America.
I am pleased to announce that two important pieces of legislation that I introduced have already passed the House. The Good Samaritan Search and Recovery Act will speed access to public lands for volunteer searches for missing persons, and the Enhancing Services for Runaway and Homeless Victims for Youth Trafficking Act will provide increased support to runaway and homeless youth who are victims of human trafficking.
Both of these bills are commonsense, non-partisan pieces of legislation aimed at protecting and providing for those in need.
I’m also hard at work on a number of other topics including: expanding international tourism, addressing Nevada’s doctor shortage, providing for our military personnel, and protecting the homeland.
I’m not sure why anything on that list has made me a target, but it looks like I will find myself in the crosshairs yet again this cycle.
Thank you for your continued support of my campaign. You have my assurance that I will continue to stay focused on the people of this great state and get the work done that Nevada, and our Nation, needs done.
Congressman Joe Heck represents Nevada’s Third Congressional District in the House of Representatives. He serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.
