Unions Have Become the Tyrants in Business

Unions Have Become the Tyrants in Business
N&V Staff
March 22, 2011

(Lee S. Gliddon, Jr./Conservative Patriot) – There was a time when America’s business owners were turning a deaf ear to the workers that were in their employ. Hourly wages were basically non-existent as workers were paid by the day. Often that day’s work entailed 10 to 12 hours with no breaks for rest and very little meal times.

Unions were formed and after some violence and hardships wage laws were agreed upon giving workers a fair-shake on their earnings as well as hours being made more reasonable. The ‘three shift day’ came about as well as holiday times off.

All was well UNTIL the Unions began to want more. Not content with wage-work hour-holiday intervention they began to seek more control over the business aspects of any place wherein they had a toe-hold.

Now Unions are not bargaining for wage-work hour-holiday matters as they seek to control every aspect of businesses without the requirement of risking capital money. They also seek to control work conditions, teaching materials, and anything else they think is money making to justify their existence.

Beginning with over-time, health benefits programs, retirement programs Unions began to call for strikes (work stoppages) so as to attain their goals of control. As they saw the Party of the Left as political allies they began to make ‘deals’ with the Democrats wherein they made contributions to various candidates and in return dealt with those same man/women once they had gained the seat for which they had run.

“I will give you enough money to smother your opponent, get my ‘heavies’ to drive voters to vote for you. and once in office you must agree to the contract I present.” Then came the added enticement, “Do this and I will make sure you remain in office just as long as our deal is met.”

This is what the current Union battles are all about! They have a good deal and do not want to lose it!

Consider this…if Unions were to remain simply to intervene in wage-work hour-holiday matters there would be no real issue as to every politician seeing them as beneficial. Of course they would have to steer clear of political races as the conflict of interest would be known and that would see America begin to realize fairness.

Remember your years as a child? Well, there was always one kid that was not content with everyone having marbles. That kid would lie, cheat and steal to gain all the marbles and would not be content even then. Well, that kid is now either the Union Boss or the Politician owned by that Union Boss!

Now for the sad part!

There are people, working people, that are being told, “Those guys are anti-Union, they are our enemies.” Just like the Unions want those working people do not take time to think they simply take their Union bosses word as truth!

America has fought through the greeds of unscrupulous businessmen (with exception of Bankers/Speculators) and is a fair nation. Unions have a place to deal with the few that try to take advantage of the workers that are the ones responsible for the successes of those businesses. That is their place.
