(Fred Weinberg) – Last weekend, I got the following email from rideshare company Lyft:
Defending Our Values
Hi Fred,
We created Lyft to be a model for the type of community we want our world to be: diverse, inclusive, and safe.
This weekend, Trump closed the country’s borders to refugees, immigrants, and even documented residents from around the world based on their country of origin. Banning people of a particular faith or creed, race or identity, sexuality or ethnicity, from entering the U.S. is antithetical to both Lyft’s and our nation’s core values. We stand firmly against these actions, and will not be silent on issues that threaten the values of our community.
We know this directly impacts many of our community members, their families, and friends. We stand with you, and are donating $1,000,000 over the next four years to the ACLU to defend our constitution. We ask that you continue to be there for each other – and together, continue proving the power of community.

Lyft Co-Founders
I don’t need two snowflakes who founded an Uber wannabe (Lyft Loses $600 Million in 2016 as Revenue Surges (Bloomberg)) to tell me who or what to support.
Worse, is their snowflake hypocrisy.
The very same “John” (Zimmer) was quoted by the Associated Press last September that those very same drivers they depend on now, their “community”, will be replaced by autonomous cars within five years.
So he won’t need those immigrant drivers after all.
I don’t care if these clowns don’t like President Trump, national security or even the concept that radical Islam is a clear and present danger. I had a business relationship with them and I don’t want emails from them proselytizing for their points of view any more than I want an NFL quarterback to do anything but play football on the playing field.
In short, I just don’t care what these clowns think. They should think on their own time.
So, I deleted my account. In the future, I will either use Uber or rent a car. (So far, I haven’t received a similar email from Avis.)
If that causes the $600-million Lyft lost last year to become a little higher this year, so be it.
As far as the message itself, give me a break.
There is nothing in the Constitution which gives non-citizens “rights”. Lyft’s little screamers seemed to have missed that part of history where 19 hijackers flew planes into the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon and killed over 3,000 of us. Or the part where a Muslim member of the United States Army declared allegiance to ISIS and killed 13 people at Fort Hood. Or the part of history where two people in San Bernardino killed 14 party goers, having been radicalized after trips abroad. Or that part of history where a radicalized Muslim in Orlando killed 59 in a gay nightclub.
Some of those perps were citizens, some not. They were all radical Muslims.
Donald Trump is merely using the powers of the Presidency to be proactive rather than reactive against attacks like those. You know, just like he promised to do during his campaign. What nerve! Keeping his campaign promises within the first two weeks of being sworn in! Washington HATES action. Especially from an outsider.
And the little snowflakes who are opposing this?
The very same people who called the Fort Hood attack “workplace violence”. Real experts on counterterrorism. Like our “friends” at Lyft.
Here’s a “core” value of America: You should have the right to go to a gay nightclub and not be shot to death by a radical Muslim. You should have the right to go to a Christmas party in San Bernardino (sponsored by the County Government, no less) without being shot to death by two ass clown radical Muslims.
When is the American Civil Liberties Union going to use some of the money Lyft is giving them to defend that?
