When NO shot was heard around the world

When NO shot was heard around the world

Michele Fiore(Michele Fiore) – It was an honor to work with Rev. Franklin Graham and the FBI team that allowed us to construct a safe passage for Sean and Sandy Anderson, David Fry, and Jeff Banta from the wildlife refuge in Burns, Oregon. It was exhausting but gratifying to see the high tension situation resolved without any further loss of life or injury by these efforts of many.

While the standoff may be resolved, the circumstances that had created it remain unresolved. It is easy to dismiss the actions of the protestors as crazies or view it as a legitimate effort of people protesting the ever over reaching federal government. However unless we look at why more and more people living in the rural parts of the western United States feel that their way of life is under assault from an overreaching and abusive federal government, we will have more of these situations.

And while you may not agree with the actions of the protesters; I hope you believe that all Americans are entitled to have their grievances heard and resolved, not to be diminished or intimidated. As this Wildlife Refuge Standoff situation works it way through the court system, I look forward to seeing those grievances addressed!

I will be speaking more about this in the upcoming days. I will always be a voice for liberty.

Assemblywoman Michele Fiore represents Clark County Assembly District 4 (Las Vegas) and was reelected to her 2nd term in 2014. For more information about her, please visit www.VoteFiore.com.
