Using the Nevada Test Site as a location for a series of naval reactors Nevada could become America’s leading source of electrical power.
Each unit would consist of four subsystems of four Naval PWR reactors.
Hoover Dam has a capacity of about 2,080 megawatts. The energy output from just one unit would surpass Hoover Dam with approx. 2,976 megawatts on a 1 square mile footprint. This is enough electricity to power 1.86 million households.
Build out a network of 12 such units would give you 35,712 megawatts for 22.32 million homes
Done correctly each resident of the state would pay next to nothing in electricity. Each household might even get a check from the state just like Alaskans do because of oil.
