(Russell Carr) – Gov. Sandoval, you have done a great job in office, and I will vote for you in 2014!
With no support from the Legislature or uninformed citizens, you demand on doing what is right. I am a student at UNR, and I strongly believe that the university does not spend money responsibly. State funds are wasted on unnecessary administrators, classes that do not belong at the college level and majors that are useless in real life!
We do not need 098 level classes. If you cannot compute basic algebra problems, you do not belong in college. No exceptions. We do not need touchy-feely English classes that teach material in high school curriculums. We do not need majors such as general studies, communications, foreign languages, fine arts and nutrition. If you want to waste your money on a degree that won’t get you a job, you should attend the University of Phoenix. Notice engineering courses are never cut!
Everyday I hear people say that UNR will be ruined for decades. That is a complete misconception. Forcing UNR to spend money wisely will improve education. Hard-working individuals should not be taxed so administrators can get pay raises!
Thank you, Gov. Sandoval!
