Carson City – Commander Kirk Lippold officially filed as a candidate for Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District this morning, promising to bring integrity, leadership and a new conservative voice to the political landscape.
“The problems facing our state are not going to be solved by a business-as-usual approach or by people afraid to take a stand or make difficult decisions,” Lippold said. “As Ronald Reagan said, the future belongs to the brave.”
Lippold, from Carson City, is a retired 26-year veteran of the United States Navy who has served as Senior Fellow for Military Families United. He was in command of the U.S.S. Cole when it was attacked by terrorists in 2000.
“I’ve spent my life in service to my country and I’m looking forward to continuing that service as a member of the United States Congress,” Lippold said. “Integrity, vision and solid conservative principles are sorely lacking in Washington today and I hope to change that.”
Kirk Lippold has been endorsed by former Nevada Congressional Representative Barbara Vucanovich, as well as Combat Vets for Congress and National Defense PAC.
