(Vicki Dooling) – I write to you from a heart filled with gratitude and excitement for the future! After all the hard work of our campaign these past months, the race is over and I’ll be serving you as your Assemblywoman for District 41.
We couldn’t have won without your support. We stretched every dollar we received and each volunteer worked tirelessly to see us through. With your help, we won, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
We were told that it couldn’t be accomplished, that a person who didn’t have big donors didn’t have a chance going up against an entrenched and highly supported incumbent. But we did it. And I will share my perspective on how this all came about because it’s this same perspective I’ll carry with me to Carson City.
I believe that for great things to be accomplished, we must work together in a respectful manner and take small steps toward big goals. It’s not the sweeping, grand promises that get the job done. Life is daily, and it’s the thoughtful, day-to-day work I’ll put in that will help change Nevada for the better.
I’m a woman of my word, and I’ve made it a priority to stay focused on reaching our goals. It was brought to my attention by a campaign worker how smoothly she felt our campaign had flowed, that we were a “no drama” campaign, that our team worked in harmony and with a professionalism that enabled us to meet the seemingly impossible challenge of beating a powerful three-time incumbent.
Her words meant a lot to me, because it’s very important to me that people work together in harmony and with respect. Egos have to be put aside for the common good of getting things done. I run my life this way, both personally and professionally. With egos parked outside the door, people can then come together to get the job done. That’s how I’ll continue to work toward fulfilling my campaign promises to you.
For those of you who entrusted me with your vote, I want you to know I’ll work hard to not let you down. For those of you who voted for my opponent, Paul Aizley, I want you to know I’ll work even harder to earn your trust and support. I want to help Nevada become a better place to live, to work and to raise families. I want you all to feel Nevada Pride and to know that I am your voice in Carson City.
I look forward to serving you, to hearing your concerns and your feedback. You can count on me to have your best interests at heart in every decision I make in the Legislature.
