(Michele Fiore) – This session has been a series of unfortunate events. We have seen several good gun bills killed for no good reason and the largest tax hike proposal in Nevada history, all of this coming out of a session with a Republican majority in both houses AND a Republican Governor.
It is disheartening to me how many elected officials are not thinking about their constituents when they cast their votes; instead they play favorites. I have to say, Chairman Ira Hansen is one of the good legislators, and he deserves our thanks. As Chairman of the Assembly Judiciary Committee, he has worked so hard to ensure that our voices are heard and our campus carry bill will continue forward this session, despite some legislators being determined to kill it.
All too often representatives run for office with the promise that they will not raise taxes, but soon after being elected they break this vow. A great way for constituents to know that their elected officials are being transparent is for them to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. I am proud to be 1 of the 10 Nevada Assembly Members who has taken, and stayed true to, this public oath.

If you missed “Walk the Talk with Michele Fiore” Saturday morning you can listen to it here. This week on the show we took a deeper look into the newly amended tax bill, AB 464, and what this bill does to Nevada businesses. We also discussed my interview with Fox 5 pertaining to the 381 million dollars that the Nevada schools could not account for in a recent audit.
