(Heck for Congress campaign) – In less than twenty-four hours the United States House of Representatives will begin floor debate on legislation which would start the country down a path toward a government takeover of our healthcare system. Liberals in Washington continue to ignore the ideas of conservatives and have chosen to ram through this dramatic expansion of federal government power.
Dina Titus has chosen to listen to her liberal party leaders rather than listen to the concerns of her constituents. The values of Nancy Pelosi are not the values of Southern Nevada. Recent town-hall meetings, hosted not only by Dina Titus, but also by Dr. Joe Heck have brought forward bi-partisan opposition to a government run health insurance system. Unfortunately the pleas of the residents of Southern Nevada have fallen on the deaf ears of Dina Titus. It appears the only person to have Dina Titus’ ear is that of the liberal machine in Washington.
With her support of this piece of legislation Dina Titus puts millions of jobs at risk at a time our nation can least afford it. Over 500,000 Americans filed for unemployment last week and yet Dina backs legislation that will harm America’s small businesses. Her continued support of “tax and spend” policies that do not create jobs, but instead add new, costly burdens on small business places our country on a dangerous path of economic difficulty. Those hardworking families of Southern Nevada who still have jobs cannot afford to be taxed more and those millions across the country who have lost their employment need the economy to start to grow and new jobs to be created. Dina’s healthcare takeover and tax policies may be Nancy Pelosi’s solution to grow government but they are not a solution to fix healthcare or this economy.
“We need healthcare reform, but Dina Titus and the liberal Democrats in Washington have continued to push for legislation that does not improve our healthcare system, but rather grows government and creates needless bureaucracy that will slow our ability to access quality healthcare and will begin the dangerous process toward a single payer system,” said Heck.
Dr. Heck continued, “Adding to our national debt and increasing the taxes on small business are not the policies that lead to an economic recovery, they are policies that will force more Nevadans out of their jobs and delay our economic recovery.”
