(Greg Lemon) – WASHINGTON – Congressman Joe Heck (NV-03) today released the following statement after voting to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the remainder of the fiscal year.
“As a member of both the House Armed Services Committee and Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, as well as a member of the Army Reserve, there is no issue I take more seriously than protecting and defending the people of the United States of America. While I strongly oppose the executive actions taken by the President last November and hope that future court decisions validate my belief that those actions were illegal, I simply will not ask the very men and women who stand between our enemies and our families to report to work and not get paid.”
Congressman Joe Heck represents Nevada’s Third Congressional District in the House of Representatives. He serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.
