NYT: Governors Oppose Reid’s Health Care Bill, Warn on Costs to States

LOST PINES, Tex. – There is one group of elected officials who are decidedly unhappy with the health care proposal unveiled by the Senate majority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada — Republican governors.
The governors, assembled here for a meeting of the Republican Governors Association, denounced the bill on Thursday morning, saying that it would place a heavy burden on their states, which are already overburdened with federal mandates that increase their Medicaid costs.
