Republican Lake Joins Uphill Race Against Berkley

(Craig Lake) – I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Craig Lake and I am proud to be running for Nevada’s 1st Congressional District against Shelley Berkley.

I am a native of the Las Vegas Valley, where I am proud to call home. I have been blessed with the entrepreneurial spirit, and in 2003 took a leap of faith and opened Rise & Shine Lighting, a local lighting sales agency.

As a small business owner, I understand firsthand what the current economic environment in Southern Nevada is, and how the liberal agenda in Washington is producing job killing policies rather than job creating. I realize that the debate going on in Washington is one that affects hard working families in Southern Nevada, whether it is “Cap and Trade” legislation or Healthcare reform. The liberal policies of Nancy Pelosi and Shelley Berkley are not in the best interests of Nevada families.

It is this prospective that has moved me to stand up and fight for hard working families of Southern Nevada. I could not sit silent and continue to watch the liberal policies of Shelley Berkley burden future generations by increasing our national debt, which is why I filed with the FEC in September 2009, and decided to run for the U.S Congress.

We need to move away from the “tax and spend” policies of Nancy Pelosi and Shelley Berkley, and move towards policies that enable businesses to expand and create new jobs. Liberals in Washington continue to vote time and time again for tax increases and cumbersome regulations on small businesses that make up the cornerstone of our nation’s economy.

Shelley Berkley has voted for the Nancy Pelosi Healthcare reform Bill, which Obama’s own economic adviser said could cost the country up to 5.5 million jobs. Shelley Berkley votes are continuing to cause our country economic hardship.

I ask you to join me in my campaign to unseat Shelley Berkley, and bring accountability and transparency to Washington. The path is steep, but the risk of doing nothing is too great. Our nation sits at a crossroads, and I ask you to join my campaign to better serve not only Southern Nevada, but this great country as well.
