Sandoval’s O-care FAR worse than you think

Because Nevada is – make that was – a relatively low insurance regulation state, Nevada got hit with the biggest average percentage increase in health insurance costs – 179%. NPRI has the sad figures.

I was curious what the cost would be for a 62 year old non smoking couple with no kids.  The LEAST EXPENSIVE of Sandoval’s Obamacare policies was $804 per month with a 40% copay and a deductible of $6250 per person per year.

So before the insurance starts paying 60%, one has to put out at least $9648 + $6250 = $15,898 per year. And that’s if only one person gets sick. Before the 60% coverage kicks in for both people, the couple has to put out $9648 + $6250 + $6250 = $21,148.00 per year.

Wow, that is really affordable!

It gets worse. Vastly, even unimaginably worse.

I put in my real central Nevada zip code. It’s a miracle – look at all the doctors in the network! Almost two dozen of them. And Sandoval’s Nevada Obamacare website says that most of these doctors are within two miles of my home! Two miles!! Amazing!!!

I know for a fact that there are only three doctors that live within 100 miles of my home. None of these three doctors were in the network. I called the admitting receptionist at our nearest hospital. She had never heard of any of those network doctors – not one of them had ever been to our nearest hospital, and she has worked there for over a decade. They were really all Las Vegas doctors.

So someone from my area would have an unexpected 400+ mile round trip drive to see an in-network doctor. Right – drive 400+ miles in one day when you are so sick that you need to see a doctor.

Sandoval’s Obamacare website is committing criminal fraud. Perhaps it will eventually come to negligent homicide.

Try it yourself, putting in 89049 (which is the zip code for nearly 10,000 square miles here in central Nevada).

The situation is FAR worse than you think.
