Sam Shad Productions has hired veteran reporter and producer Samantha Stone to join the Nevada Newsmakers team, assuming the duties of Executive Producer Bonnie McCorkle. McCorkle plans to continue with Sam Shad Productions working on special projects.
Stone will also serve as a co-host, and field reporter, allowing Nevada Newsmakers – a daily show produced in Reno and aired Monday through Thursday statewide and on the Internet – to incorporate more in depth news elements. In addition, she will develop news content for the Nevada Newsmakers website.
“Samantha will be an all around utility player for us,” said President and CEO Sam Shad. “She’s has broad experience on the air, in the field, and as a producer. Her multi-media background will be a major asset as Nevada Newsmakers explores new ways to expand its content.”
Stone spent five years as a reporter at Reno NewsTalk 780 KOH. She reported for the Vegas PBS TV Station KLVX during Nevada’s 2008 presidential caucus, and during the 2007 Legislative Session.
Before moving to Nevada, she worked for both of ABC-Disney’s radio properties in San Francisco. She was a columnist for the San Francisco Examiner, and was an early participant in web publishing.
