Trump: Obama ‘Likes Me,’ He Just Won’t Admit It

(Katie Frates, The Daily Caller News Foundation) – Former President Barack Obama likes Donald Trump, he just won’t admit it.

That’s according to Trump himself, who told host Bill O’Reilly on “The O’Reilly Factor” Monday night that he can “feel” that Obama likes him.

“You know what was fascinating, to watch you at the inauguration with Barack Obama,” O’Reilly said. “You guys seemed to get along, alright, would that be accurate?”

“It’s a very strange phenomenon. We get along. I don’t know if he’ll admit this, but he likes me,” Trump said. “I like him. I can feel it, you know that’s what I do in life, it’s called, like, I understand. Now, we had a rough campaign, he was fighting better for Hillary than she did. He was vicious during the campaign toward me and I was vicious toward him. We said horrible things about each other”

Obama attacked Trump repeatedly during the 2016 presidential election, saying Oct. 14 that America has “everything” to lose if it votes for Trump.

Trump also went after Obama. He said Obama should resign in June 2016 because Obama didn’t call the Orlando terror attack “radical Islamic terrorism.”

“It was a great inauguration. I loved every minute of it, and I got along with him,” Trump told O’Reilly during the portion of the interview aired Monday. “People were sort of surprised. I finished, I turned around, he was smiling, I was smiling, we were saying hello.”

The former president has since publicly admonished Trump for his executive order halting immigration from seven Middle Eastern countries. Obama broke from traditional protocol on not publicly commenting on a new administration by making the statement about two weeks after Trump was inaugurated.
