(Jim Blockey) – Steve Sebelius in his self imposed wisdom wrote “Republicans played a very good match on Tuesday, but they failed to capture the king,” like it really mattered.
America won the Revolution without capturing the king; we beat Germany without capturing Hitler; you do not have to capture the king to win the war unless you are playing a game. And sir, this is NOT a game; it is the future of this country.
The reasons she lost, Sebelius exclaimed were because of these things Mrs. Angle said: Incest rape victims should have the child? Angle said it. Alcohol should be treated like marijuana, and made illegal? Angle said it. If things fail to go her way politically, people might resort to “Second Amendment remedies”? Angle said that, too. It’s not a senator’s job to create jobs? That was Angle. Phase out Social Security and Medicare? That was Angle, at least before she won the primary.
Honestly, if you believe that a child is a child at conception you would naturally want to protect ALL children. It would be like killing a week old child because it has Down syndrome. We can’t eliminate all the bad things that happen in this world, but we do not want to compound it by doing something worse to try to fix it.
Alcohol should be treated like marijuana; it is just as bad if not worse. This doesn’t mean that you want to make alcohol illegal; the more sensible reasoning would be she wanted to make marijuana LEGAL.
Mrs. Angle was not saying she would resort to “Second Amendment remedies;” what she was saying is there are those out there, that if the government continues to steal our freedoms that may resort to that. And she is exactly correct about that. We are being taxed at a rate that is higher than what England was taxing that caused the Revolutionary War, and people are getting tired of it.
Mr. Sebelius, if you read the responsibilities of a U. S. Senator, you will realize that it is NOT their job to create jobs; in fact it is just the opposite, it is their responsibility to ensure that the government does not hinder businesses in creating jobs. And if you look at reality the government has done exactly that, scaring businesses from hiring because they are so unsure of what the government is going to do next.
Social Security and Medicare are failing; they are going bankrupt (because the government continues to steal money from it). So a reasonable person would want to phase it out and start over. Remember phasing it out would not stop those currently using it from its benefits.
You can take just about anything that someone says and manipulate it to mean whatever you want it to and that is what Reid is an expert at. Republicans did not fail to defeat the king; the king failed to forthright. I guess in politics the end justifies the means… maybe that is why Washington is so corrupt, because we as Americans have accepted those principles.
The end does not justify the means… the means is what espouses your character.
