#87 on the List, #1 in the Hearts of Reno Conservatives

#87 on the List, #1 in the Hearts of Reno Conservatives

(Chuck Muth) – Talk about local boy making good. London’ Daily Telegraph has compiled a list of the Top 100 “most influential US conservatives” in the United States today. And wouldn’t you know it, former Renoite, Eric Odom, is #87!

“Tea Party organizer: Aged just 29, the self-proclaimed “blogivist” organised some of the earliest “tea party” protests against the Obama stimulus bill. He had a head start, founding DontGo, that rallied support for off shore drilling.

“A partner in online media firm Strategic Action, which operates the Tax Day Tea Party website, a focal point for last summer’s protests. After the giddy successes of 2009, 2010 will be a key year for Odom and others in the nascent movement.”

And get this, Eric is also light-skinned and doesn’t speak with a Negro dialect, so maybe some day, he, too, could become President of the United States!

All kidding aside, this doesn’t really surprise us here at Nevada News & Views. We’ve been well aware of Eric’s conservative bona fides and online political action talents for years now, dating back to the good ol’ days when the leadership of the Washoe County Republican Party told him they didn’t need his help on their website and to take a flying leap.

Good call there, guys.!

Anyway, Eric was the brilliant idea man behind the addition of bloggers to our very successful first Conservative Leadership Conference in Reno in 2007. Immediately thereafter, Eric was lured to the big city, hooking up with the Sam Adams Alliance and moving to Chicago. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Congratulations, Eric. Don’t forget us little people. Shoot us an email once in a while.
