Want Secure Elections? Sign the SAVE America Pledge

Time is running short to strengthen election safeguards before the next major federal elections.

Activists with the Election Integrity Network are urging citizens across the country to sign a public pledge supporting the proposed SAVE America Act.

Supporters want Americans to show lawmakers that voters expect common sense election rules.

The pledge focuses on three major reforms: voter ID, proof of citizenship when registering to vote, and tighter limits on mail ballots.

Supporters say these are basic safeguards most Americans already believe should exist.

Three Common Sense Changes

According to the pledge campaign, the SAVE America Act would require voters to show identification at the polls.

It would also require people to show proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote.

And it would limit mail ballots mainly to military voters, overseas citizens, or people who request an absentee ballot with proof of need.

The pledge asks citizens to publicly support the SAVE America Act and pressure senators to bring it to the Senate floor.

Supporters are also asking Senate leadership to allow a full debate on the bill rather than ending discussion before it begins.

Advocates say voters deserve to hear where lawmakers stand on issues like citizenship verification and election security.

The pledge ultimately calls on the Senate to pass the bill and send it to Donald Trump for his signature.

Polling shows America supports the act; A 2021 national poll from the Rasmussen Reports found that 75% of likely voters support requiring photo ID to vote.

A separate poll from the Pew Research Center found that 81% of Americans support requiring voters to show a government issued ID.

Supporters say those numbers show a broad national consensus.

Advocates Say Action Is Urgent

The pledge campaign says the Senate already has majority support for the measure. But supporters want the bill brought forward so lawmakers must publicly take a position.

Public trust in elections depends on clear rules and consistent enforcement.

The longer lawmakers delay, the harder it becomes to rebuild confidence.

Nevada’s Election Rules Are Part of the Debate

In 2021, Nevada lawmakers passed legislation making universal mail ballots permanent.

That means ballots are automatically mailed to all active registered voters in the state.

Supporters say the policy makes voting easier. Critics say it increases the risk of ballots going to outdated addresses or inactive voters.

Nevada also allows ballot harvesting, where someone can collect and return ballots for other voters.

Supporters say it helps people who cannot easily return ballots themselves, but critics worry it creates opportunities for abuse.

Because Nevada elections are often close, even small changes in election rules can have a big impact.

What Opponents Say

Critics of stricter election laws argue that additional rules could make voting harder for some Americans.

Supporters of the Save America Act strongly disagree.

Identification is already required for many routine tasks, like opening a bank account, boarding a plane, or buying cigarettes or alcohol.

Advocates say protecting the integrity of elections should be treated at least as seriously as everyday activities like these.

A Growing National Campaign

The pledge is designed to show lawmakers that voters expect action.

If Americans can’t trust the rules of elections, faith in government itself begins to weaken.

The campaign is urging citizens to sign the pledge and pressure lawmakers to bring the SAVE America Act to a vote.

Secure elections protect every voter. And the time to act is now.
