Trump Event Snub? “Cabo Kasama’s” Country Club Detour

Clark County Commission District F is a serious pick-up opportunity for Republicans after scandal-ridden Democrat incumbent Justin Jones mercifully opted not to seek re-election and the likely Democrat nominee is a disaster-in-waiting.

But the GOP primary to replace him has become a five-alarm fire.

Assemblywoman Heidi Kasama was the first to announce her GOP candidacy for the seat last year – and clearly thought she’d clear the field and advance to the general election without a credible primary challenge.

Then newcomer Albert Mack tossed his hat in the ring. And the mud and the blood and the beer have flowed non-stop ever since. The latest:

Mack dropped a digital meme on social media this week noting Kasama’s support for Rep. Susie “Potty Mouth” Lee a few years ago.

An obviously irked Kasama responded with a spam-text message repeating her debunked claim about Mack being a Hillary supporter.

Actually, she didn’t.

She announced her intent to run against Lee in 2024, but backed out and ran for re-election to her Assembly seat instead.

Which brings us to President Trump’s “No Tax On Tips” visit to Las Vegas on Thursday.

Mack – the supposed “Trump Hater” –  was reportedly invited to sit in the VIP section for the roundtable event by Nevada Republican Party Chairman Michael McDonald.

And by all accounts, he was extremely well-received by the multitude of MAGA folks in attendance.

Missing in Action: Kasama.

Why didn’t she go and show support for the President?

I mean, you didn’t need a VIP ticket to get in. General admission tickets were free. You just had to register. That’s how my daughter Kristen and I got in.

So where was the self-proclaimed Trump supporter if not at this rare Trump event in her own home town?

Well, reportedly she ducked the Trump event and instead played a round of golf at an elite Las Vegas country club.

Something tells me that ain’t gonna sit well with voters in the district who are already ticked off that she voted remotely from a swanky Cabo resort for the “Hollywood Handout” during the special session last November.

Put on some sunscreen folks. This race is going to get a LOT hotter before the June primary.
