Classic Cars, Food Trucks, and Freedom – Henderson Has It All May 24

If you’re looking for something local to do over Memorial Day weekend, Henderson has an event that’ll mix patriotism, family fun, and community spirit all in one place.

America’s Celebration: 250 Years of Freedom, a Memorial Day Weekend car show, is scheduled for Sunday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 704 W. Sunset Rd. in Henderson.

The flyer says guests can expect a variety of attractions, including live music, food trucks, military appreciation, art, and classic cars. Families can walk around, grab lunch, enjoy the music, and spend a few hours outdoors without needing a big plan or expensive tickets.

Polished old trucks, restored muscle cars, or timeless cruisers from decades past – classic cars have a way of bringing together people of all ages. It’s a family event, so organizers are encouraging attendees to bring kids and pets.

We’re approaching the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding, which will be formally recognized in 2026. Across the country, many communities are planning events that highlight America’s history, traditions, and future.

For Henderson residents, this looks like an early chance to join that spirit close to home.

When so many public gatherings feel overly commercialized or disconnected, simple local events like this are a breath of fresh air.

They give neighbors a reason to gather, families a reason to get out of the house, and communities a chance to celebrate what they share.

You can spend Sunday scrolling, or you can spend it surrounded by good food, live music, classic cars, and people who still love this country.
