(Fox News Insider) – A federal appeals court ruled on Thursday that Florida doctors can talk to their patients about gun ownership and safety.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit struck down a provision of the so-called “Docs vs. Glocks” law barring doctors from asking patients about guns unless the information is medically relevant.
The court found that the law – which was passed in 2011 and signed by Republican Gov. Rick Scott with strong support from the National Rifle Association – violates a doctor’s right to free speech.
