If You’re Not Cringing at Carrie Buck’s Tweets Yet, You’re Not Paying Attention

I know some of you are strong supporters of State Sen. Carrie Buck in the GOP primary for Nevada’s 1st congressional district, vying for the Republican nomination to take on Democrat Rep. Dina Titus next year.

And that’s fine.

You’re not alone. The “establishment” has anointed her as their horse in the race, and it’s only natural for many to hop along for the ride.

But I hope you’ll objectively acknowledge that her campaign, thus far, isn’t exactly firing on all cylinders.

And Republicans simply will not be able to blast Titus out of her seat with warmed-over, generic, content-free campaign pablum. Yet that’s exactly what Buck’s campaign has been serving up.

Here’s the latest example, her post on X yesterday morning:

“Sundays in Nevada don’t need noise. They need stillness. Gratitude. A porch, a prayer, and the people you love. We don’t chase chaos, we build faith, raise families, and live freely. That’s what I’m fighting for.”

Huh? What the heck is THAT?

Well, it’s pretty much a re-run of her Sunday tweet the week before:

“On Sundays in Nevada, we don’t ask Washington for permission to live our values. We gather with family, pray for wisdom, and raise our kids to know right from wrong, even when DC can’t tell the difference. I’m not running to fit in… I’m running to stand up for faith, family, and freedom.”

“Live our values”? Who talks like that around the dinner table?

Come on, Buckites. Even you have to admit this is lame to the extreme. And you’re not gonna beat Titus with such mush-mouth messaging.

And I’m not alone in this assessment. I received the following email this morning from a veteran political observer – who doesn’t have a dog in the race – after reading yesterday’s tweet:

“Who is her consultant? Those tweets are f*cking terrible. Like AI programmed by the guy who invented Muzak on elevators.”

Snore-fest, indeed.

And while I know some of you are adamantly opposed to the campaign of Republican Bobby Khan in this primary contest, compare her campaign messaging to these two that Khan posted this morning:

“If we don’t open the government this week, both parties will have a shitstorm on their hands come November 1st when Millions of americans don’t get their snap benefits. Yes there’s people that abuse that system, but there are people that really do need it and depend on it. We’re going into the month of Thanksgiving and we have people in Washington that can’t figure out one basic concept ‘they work for AMERICANS’ not people in other nations or illegals here. Get your act together.”

That’s Captain Crunch compared to Buck’s Shredded Wheat.

Or try this one on for size:

“The Las Vegas Tourism authority has lost any sense of reality. Putting up a few billboards and free desserts isn’t going to get people coming to Las Vegas in droves. We need to make Vegas Vegas Again and to do that we need to go back to the basics:

    1. No resort fees
    2. Free parking
    3. Cheaper hotel rooms
    4. Inexpensive food options
    5. Inexpensive drinks
    6. Buffets
    7. Comps
    8. Lounge acts and cheaper entertainment
    9. Make the casino floor more entertaining unlike now where they’ve removed entertainment from the floor and we have expensive show tickets

“The democrats shut down the state in 2020 and gutted businesses and that had a lasting impact on our lives. Hedge funds and bean counters forgot what made Vegas great and decided to turn it into Disneyland. However the independent operators are doing it right and know the key to success is making people feel great, welcome, cheap food, drinks, and give them a time they can talk about.

“If tomorrow these properties would realize take care of the locals, go back to free parking, buffets, entertainment that doesn’t break the bank, lounge singers on the floor, cheap drinks and people will come back in droves.”

Seriously now. Be honest. Which messaging is more likely to resonate with voters?

This isn’t about Sen. Buck as a person. Nice lady. This is about what it’s going to take to dethrone Queen Dina. And I’m sorry, but what we’ve seen so far from Carrie’s campaign leaves a LOT to be desired.

She needs to seriously step up her game.
