Meet the Two Guys Who Built Voter ID in a Garage

Posted By

(Liberty Watch Magazine) – You’ve heard of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak — the two guys who built Apple in a garage and changed the world.

Well, meet George Harris and David Gibbs.

They’re not building computers. But they did build something just as important — right in Dave’s garage.

They built Voter ID for Nevada.

Same grit. Different mission.

How It Started

George Harris is a retired CEO. David Gibbs is a retired Air Force Colonel. Back in 2022, these two guys had an idea — and instead of just talking about it, they got to work.

No big office. No fancy team. Just two guys who believed in fair elections and were willing to do what it takes.

They wrote the language. They gathered the signatures. They fought it out in the courts.

They split up the state and hit the road — from Elko to Ely, Alamo to Nye County — shaking hands and getting it done.

And it worked.

On August 8, 2024, their PAC — Repair the Vote — officially earned Ballot Question 7.

Then on November 5, 2024, Nevada voters spoke loud and clear: 1,031,153 votes. That’s the highest vote total for any ballot question in Nevada history.

But It’s Not Over Yet

Here’s the thing — to change the Nevada Constitution, a measure has to pass twice.

So, Question 7 is back on the ballot in November 2026.

This is round two. And this time, it becomes the law of the land.

They need your help again.

The Team That Made It Happen

George and Dave will tell you straight — they didn’t do this alone.

In the war room, verifying signatures and making sure every “i” was dotted: Michele Barns, Julie Hereford, Iris Stone, Sue Stitt, Steve Wark, Pauline Lee, Cathy Hoffman, Tami Romo, Mary Rooney, Jim Spinks, and Deb Nelson.

Out in the heat all summer long — at festivals, door to door, churches, and community events: Annie Black, Susan Proffitt, John Tsarpalas, Drew and Sara Johnson, Rachael Dahl, Heather and Jeff Gunter, and Dave.

As George put it:

“The idea was Dave’s and mine — but we couldn’t have done it without the hundreds of volunteers across this state. We were just the catalyst.”

That’s what real voter integrity looks like. People showing up and doing the work.

Now George Is Running for State Senate

David Gibbs is leading the ground game for 2026 — making sure voters show up.

And George Harris? He’s running for Nevada State Senate in District 8.

Here’s who George is:

  •  A Las Vegas-based retired CEO
  •  An entrepreneur who built real companies and created real jobs
  •  A U.S. Army veteran
  •  A conservative with a proven record

He’s not a career politician. He’s a guy who’s met a payroll, built businesses, and given people real opportunities right here in Nevada. Now he’s stepping up to serve again — to stand up for taxpayers, protect families, and bring some common sense back to Carson City.

No nonsense. No excuses. Just results.

Now — Let’s Talk About Something That Stinks

You know that old saying — “Victory has a thousand fathers, but defeat is an orphan”?

Well, there’s a Republican Assemblywoman named Lisa Cole who seems determined to take credit for work she didn’t do.

Less than 30 days ago, Cole formed a new PAC called “Save Nevada Now.”

She talks about protecting voters. Cleaning up voter rolls. Securing elections.

Don’t buy it.

Here’s what’s really going on.

What Lisa Cole’s PAC Is Really About

This PAC wasn’t built to protect you. It was built to help Lisa Cole climb the political ladder.

It was formed less than 60 days after the Special Session — the same session where the Hollywood Studio Bill failed. That was a bill asking taxpayers to hand over $1.5 billion to multibillion-dollar Hollywood corporations.

Guess who voted for it?

Lisa Cole.

And now she’s lining up endorsements through her new PAC for candidates who either already voted for that bill — or plan to support it when it comes back in 2027.

On February 6, 2026, former Nevada Assembly Speaker turned lobbyist John Oceguera went on Nevada Newsmakers and said it out loud — the Hollywood bill is coming back in 2027. No guessing. Straight from the source.

So why is Cole pushing these candidates?

Simple. Caucus leadership costs money. And the people with the money are the lobbyists backing this Hollywood deal. Cole is doing their bidding — and if her candidates win, she moves up.

You pay the price. She gets the prize.

The Candidates You Need to Know About

Every candidate backed by Cole’s “Save Nevada Now” PAC either already voted for the Hollywood handout — or has made clear they’ll support it in 2027.

Assemblyman Jason Patchett — voted yes on the Hollywood bill

Senator Lisa Krasner — voted yes on the Hollywood bill

Assemblywoman Heidi Kasama who is now running for Clark County Commission — voted yes on the Hollywood bill

Candidate Laz Chavez — has signaled he’ll support it next session

Different names. Same result. More of your tax dollars going to Hollywood elites.

What This Means for Your Neighborhood

This isn’t just a political fight happening somewhere else. It’s coming to your backyard.

If the Hollywood studio deal goes through, you’re looking at 4 to 8 months of road construction just to rework Flamingo and Town Center — because those roads weren’t built to handle the truck traffic a studio brings in. Then another 14 to 20 months of ongoing construction headaches. Traffic. Noise. Delays. Every single day.

And that kind of chaos doesn’t help property values. It puts them at risk.

On top of all that, taxpayers get stuck with $1.5 billion in transferable tax credits over 10 years. That’s not economic development — that’s a gamble with your money, for someone else’s business.

We’ve seen this before. Remember Faraday? Big promises. Well-connected people. And taxpayers left holding the bag.

They’re setting up the same play for 2027.

Here’s What You Can Do

You might not be able to vote Lisa Cole out — she’s not in your district. But you can stop the candidates who are carrying her water.

Heidi Kasama and Laz Chavez

Heidi Kasama and Laz Chavez are on your primary ballot.

That’s where you make your stand.

Vote against the Hollywood handout. Vote for real accountability. And vote to finish what George Harris and David Gibbs started.

Voter ID is Ballot Question 7. Voter integrity is on the line. And your vote matters.
