Racist, Islamaphobe, Homophobe Won't Intimidate Me or Anyone Else Who the Left Hurls Those Words At
The lefty victim lobby has been hurling around the terms racist, islamaphobe and homophobe for at least this century and part of the last.
I was growing up in the Midwest during the Jim Crow era, so I think I have a better idea of what constitutes racism than today’s snowflakes like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Ilhan Omar.
Racism is the overt act of discriminating against someone based on their skin color or ethnicity.
It is not the act of calling out stupid ideas from undereducated people who think that they are smarter than their elders.
It is not the act of suggesting that certain Somali immigrants who managed to get themselves elected to Congress should get down on their knees and thank whatever God they worship that they came to a country which allows them to get to the station in life they find themselves in (as opposed to running for warlord).
It is not the act of suggesting that, as a nation, we have the right and obligation to know who is in the country both legally and illegally.
It is not suggesting that we owe blacks NOTHING in 2019 for things which happened before January 1, 1863.
It is not suggesting that we should use English—proper English—for a national language as opposed to whatever language—or perversion of a language—someone wishes to use.
It is not telling people who have entered this country illegally to get out.
Racism is not the explanation for every minority failure in American history. And, just because someone disagrees with a leftist Democrat does NOT make them a racist.
Racist is a word which is being used so often and so loosely by the left that it is simply losing any impact and meaning it once had.
Actually, the left should have tried to have the word racist copyrighted and turned into a trademark or a brand. Kind of like the words Xerox or Kleenex.
As things are, the term means less and less every day.
And if someone wants to call me a racist for writing this—the truth—you know what? I can live with it.
Let’s talk about the other words the left also likes to throw around.
Islamaphobe.
I can’t tell you what exactly that is but I CAN tell you what it’s not.
It’s not being mad about 9-11. It’s not siding with American troops who kill an Iraqi terrorist and then get prosecuted by a politically correct JAG Corps which is trying to apply old rules to asymmetrical war.
It’s definitely not supporting our biggest ally anywhere, Israel.
I do business with Muslims. But I refuse to buy into sections of the Koran which advise killing infidels and I refuse to accept the myth that those sections are meaningless or, worse, that they never existed.
If all of that and my support for Israel makes me an Islamaphobe, I can live with that.
Homophobe.
Again, an exact definition eludes me but I can tell you what it is not.
I do not need to know the sexual preferences of anybody except the woman who married me. I do not have to accept and approve. I don’t care if you want to have sex with Pamela Anderson OR Tommy Lee. Leave me out. Whatever you do, do it on your own time.
If that makes me a homophobe, I can live with that.
In terms I know we all understand, calling me one of those words—or all of them—will have absolutely no effect. Don’t waste your time.
