(Grover Norquist) – It’s been a busy few months for primary elections across the country, including Texas, Arkansas, North Carolina, Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana.
We’re proud to report that dozens of Taxpayer Protection Pledge Signers have won their primaries and now head to the general election in November.
This is a critical first step in sending more pro-taxpayer, limited government conservatives to Washington.

The Pledge, which is a written commitment to a candidate’s constituents that he or she will never vote to raise taxes, is the rare example of good politics and good policy.
In many cases, it proves to be the differentiator between a winning and losing campaign at the primary level.
To see if your candidates for federal and state offices have signed the Pledge, visit our database here.
If there’s not a Pledge Signer on your ballot, there’s still time to contact them and ask them why they haven’t signed it. We make it easy for them to do right on our website.
Americans for Tax Reform created the Taxpayer Protection Pledge in 1985 to solidify candidates’ commitments to taxpayers.
President Ronald Reagan urged all candidates to sign the Pledge. He campaigned for and praised candidates who signed the Pledge.
Today, over 1,400 elected officials and candidates at the federal and state levels are Taxpayer Protection Pledge signers.
There are currently 194 Pledge signers in the U.S. House and 43 Pledge signers in the U.S. Senate.
88% of Congressional Republicans have signed the Pledge and put their commitment to oppose tax increases into writing, contrasting with the ZERO congressional Democrats who have made this commitment.
The Pledge only works with the backing of individual taxpayers like you.
