(Eric Lieberman, The Daily Caller News Foundation) – U.S. authorities are allegedly requiring multiple countries’ airlines to ban passengers of certain flights from bringing on almost any electronic device, according to reports.
“Following instructions from the concerned U.S. departments, we kindly inform our dearest passengers departing to and arriving from the United States that carrying any electronic or electrical device on board the flight cabins is strictly prohibited,” Royal Jordanian Airlines tweeted on their official account. “Cellular phones and medical devices needed during the flight are excluded.”
The tweet has since been removed.
The prohibition is set to affect airlines from 13 nations, according to reports from The Hill and The Guardian.
CNN’s aviation editor corroborated the reports on Twitter.

An official for the U.S. government said the policy has been mulled over for several weeks, according to The Associated Press.
Royal Jordanian Airlines asserts that the new rule will go in effect starting March 21, and will be applied specifically to New York, Chicago, Detroit and Montreal.
Representatives for the Transportation Security Administration and the Trump administration have yet to confirm or deny the reports.
