Somebody finally said what a lot of Nevada conservatives have been thinking for a long time.
Enough talk. Enough “nice try.” Enough of candidates who campaign like lions and then govern like lambs.
Citizen Outreach PAC just rolled out its first round of 2026 primary endorsements, and this isn’t some polite press release meant to impress insiders.
It’s a warning shot. A battle cry. They’re backing candidates who’ll fight. And they’re done wasting time on spectators.
Here’s the simple truth: if you don’t control the majority, you don’t control anything. Not committees. Not budgets. Not redistricting. Not the agenda.
You just sit there and complain.
Citizen Outreach PAC says they’re focused on winning real power by 2030, in time for the next round of map drawing.
That’s not symbolism. That’s strategy. And it’s long overdue.
They made it clear these endorsements aren’t about finding “perfect” conservatives. They’re about finding candidates who are conservative enough and willing to stand their ground.
That includes Nevada News & Views contributors Annie Black, George Harris, Erica Neely, Kelly Chapman, and Amy Groves.
The PAC laid out three rules for getting their backing.
First: You’ve got to be viable. Serious candidates with a serious shot of winning.
Second: You’ve got to work with conservatives once elected. No more “ghosting” the grassroots people who helped put you in office.
Third: You’ve got to be a fighter. Not a deal-cutter who caves. Not a bench-warmer doing a potted plant imitation. A fighter.
They quoted Hall of Fame quarterback Johnny Unitas: “Talk is cheap. Let’s go play.”
Exactly.
They’re also fed up with Republicans who think passing any bill, even a useless one, counts as success. That’s small ball. They want candidates who’ll go big. Who’ll push back. Who’ll lead.
Because Nevada doesn’t need more polite losers. It needs bold conservatives who’ll take heat, rock the boat, and, as Mel Gibson said in Braveheart, “pick a fight.”
The PAC also faulted weak leadership by Assembly Republican Caucus leader Greg Hafen.
Families are squeezed by rising costs. Schools keep failing kids. Crime keeps climbing. And taxpayers keep getting soaked.
That didn’t happen because conservatives fought too hard. It happened because too many, like Hafen, didn’t fight at all.
The endorsement list is about building a bench. From Carson City to city councils. It’s about safer streets. Smarter spending. And leaders who remember who sent them there.
Nevada conservatives are done asking nicely. They’re done waiting for permission. They’re building a team that’ll fight back. Here’s the starting roster.
