A Simple Moment With My Kids Reminded Me Why I’m Running

Let me tell you a story.

A few weeks ago, my kids met Erika Kirk at a Turning Point event.

If you don’t know her story, she’s the wife of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point and conservative leader whose life was tragically cut short. She’s now carrying on his mission and continuing that work.

On the drive home, my kids couldn’t stop talking about her.

One of them said something I won’t forget:

“She’s like an angel.”

And as a mom, that sticks with you.

You start thinking about who your kids look up to…
What kind of role models they’re seeing…
What kind of world they’re growing up in.

And you start asking yourself:

Who’s fighting for them?

I’ve spent over 20 years building a life here in Las Vegas.
My husband and I raised our family here. We’ve fostered and adopted.
I’ve coached kids and built a small business in this community.

This is home.

And when you love your home…
you fight to protect it.

That’s why I’m running for Assembly District 9.

I’m honored to have the support of Governor Joe Lombardo, and I’m ready to take that same work ethic to Carson City.

I’ve also been spending time with small business owners, community leaders, and law enforcement, including Sheriff Kevin McMahill.

And one issue keeps coming up:

Public safety.

Something I’ve heard people talking about everywhere I’ve gone is the situation involving a repeat offender’s release here in Las Vegas.

I spoke out in support of Sheriff McMahill’s decision to refuse that release.

Low and behold, he was right – the individual was arrested again just days later.

As a mom, this seems simple:

Your family should be safe.
Your neighborhood should be safe.

And our leaders should back law enforcement when they make the tough calls.

And speaking of protecting our kids…

You might’ve seen the recent news about protecting women’s sports heading into the 2028 Olympics.

This is about fairness, opportunity, and making sure our daughters have a level playing field.

Read my full thoughts here.

Because if we won’t stand up for our kids… who will?

That’s the fight.

And I’m just getting started.
