(Ed Rush) – What a year it’s been.
Venezuela is a new country. The Iranian leadership is all but gone. Cuba is coming to the table.
I keep thinking about this dusty old Doctrine…and yep… there it is: The Monroe Doctrine! Feels weirdly relevant again.
Anyway, for the last two weeks, I have been all over the news giving my opinion on Iran, and so I thought I would share my thoughts here.
1) Was this war really necessary?
Probably. (How’s that for a definitive answer?)
More like “almost definitely.” Here’s why:
If the intelligence is even close to accurate, Iran’s leadership was nearing nuclear capability and intended to use it against Israel – and potentially against us.
I say “potentially against us” based on one very important geographical fact, which I will explain in a moment.
Now I know you probably have memories of Colin Powell showing the world WMDs that didn’t exist. (“Don’t touch that yellow cake!”)
I know that nukes sound like a plausible lie to start a war, but then again, what if it were all true?
What if we had a 9/11 moment, only this time with nukes that were accompanied by grid failure? What if we KNEW it was coming?
If that were true, the President would be impeached (again), and this time it would stick.
So, should we be involved? Yeah, probably.
OK, now for the sticky set of questions…
2) What Happens Next? How Do We Win? How Long Will This Take?
Let me explain it the way my grandmother would’ve understood it.
My grandmother, Alice Cowan (may she rest in peace), lived through WWII.
She saw her husband and “the boys” leave in 1942… and get this…come home three years later, in 1945.
I remember asking her, “When did you think ‘the boys’ would come home?” She said, “Oh, whenever the war was over.”
That’s the mindset we’ve lost.
Those ladies all waited three years for the boys to come back. They started industries, they worked in factories, and they raised a generation.
Let’s just say Americans were built differently in 1942.
The reality is that we really don’t understand war anymore.
War is hard.
War is long.
War is costly.
It’s all very inconvenient, especially for many Christians who haven’t yet ditched their pacifiers.
Most American believers suppose war should work like Amazon Prime 2-day shipping.
You see, here in America, we have something most countries don’t: water. We have these big, beautiful borders called the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
That means missiles have to fly a LONG way to get here.
Have you noticed that Israel gets bombed all day, every day?
Have you noticed we never get bombed?
Do you want to know why? It’s all that water.
It’s not because we are better people, or because our military is better, or because our leadership is smarter.
We aren’t safe because we’re morally superior. We’re safer because of geography.
Now, our geographical advantage will become smaller as drone tech gets better and as the electronic battlefield heats up, but for now, let’s just say we’re generally safer than anyone else in the world.
But that doesn’t mean the war’s going to end tomorrow. Because it won’t.
The Iranian regime consists of a never-ending toilet paper roll of replacement leaders.
Trust me, they’re not stepping down. They’re not giving up. They will literally burn their country to the ground before surrender.
They may come to the table, but after all, they have proven time and time again that deals don’t matter.
They’ll lie, take our money (pallets of it), and go back to making nukes.
So yeah, it may take some time. It could take YEARS.
Having said that, the most likely course of action is for us to insert covert forces, along with the Israelis and the Kurds, and join with the Iranian people to depose their leaders.
That is a 3-week to 3-month process if it’s executed properly.
Finally, what can you do now? Here are some simple steps:
Don’t hurry the President or our military leadership. Every day, some media dope pesters the President for a deadline to end the war.
That’s just dumb. It’s not in anyone’s best interest, including theirs. Just stop.
Pray that GOD would install his man in Iran. I know there is a man of God, a pastor, who is waiting in the wings.
How epic would it be if God’s man became Iran’s leader? Goosebump-city.
Finally, don’t forget to prepare your mind.
There is a massive world revolution coming, and you’re going to want to be ready when it comes.
Everything is going to change: government, the economy, the media, the arts, and more.
Those who have “eyes to see” have seen this one coming for a while. Get ready…it’s going to be a crazy, fun ride.
Out.
