$355,000 Per Household: The Price Tag on Vinny Spotleson’s Club.
My opponent doesn’t hide it. I’ll give him that much.
On July 4th, Vinny Spotleson was called a “closet” member of the Democratic Socialists of America.
His reply? “Bro I am a dues paying member of @lasvegasdsa.”
Then he added, “I have posted at their events. Not hiding anything.”
Let’s not hide anything either.
In August, The Nevada Independent reported that Spotleson joined the Las Vegas DSA chapter earlier this year.
Part of the reason, the paper said, was to win the group’s endorsement in his primary.
Think about that. He didn’t stumble into DSA by accident. He joined because he wanted its backing.
Spotleson says he doesn’t like labels. He says he doesn’t agree with DSA on everything.
Fair enough. But you don’t pay dues to a group whose goals you think are dangerous.
So what does DSA actually want?
This month the White House Council of Economic Advisers took the group at its word. The CEA scored DSA’s 2026 national platform, called “Workers Deserve More.”

The results should worry every family in Assembly District 41.
The $355,000 Bill
The report looked at eight big DSA promises.
- Free college and wiping out student debt.
- Open borders and amnesty.
- Abolishing the police and prisons.
- Medicare for All.
- Universal rent control.
- The Green New Deal.
- A 32-hour workweek.
- And a wealth tax.
The CEA says seven of them would add more than $49 trillion to federal deficits over ten years.
That’s about $355,000 for every household in America.
Somebody has to pay for that. There are only two ways to do it.
Borrow It, and Prices Explode
If Washington borrows the money, the CEA estimates 30-year mortgage rates would top 12 percent.
On a $400,000 home loan, that’s more than $4,100 a month. And that’s before taxes and insurance.
The report also says prices could rise an extra 130 to 160 percent over ten years.
Groceries. Gas. Rent. Everything.
Tax It, and Paychecks Shrink
If Washington raises taxes instead, the CEA says the average household’s after-tax hourly wages would drop 28.4 percent.
That’s about $22,000 a year out of your pocket.
I’ve worked in Strip casinos for nearly 30 years. I know dealers, cocktail servers, porters, and pit bosses.
None of them can afford to lose $22,000 a year.
And the Streets Get Less Safe
The CEA also looked at DSA’s public-safety ideas. That means abolishing the police, ending cash bail, and shortening sentences.
The report found those policies raised crime where they were tried.
Las Vegas runs on tourism. Tourists don’t come to cities that feel unsafe. Neither do the jobs that depend on them.
That’s one reason I’m proud Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill has endorsed my campaign.
Why a State Race Matters
Some folks will say this is just an Assembly race. What can one socialist do in Carson City?
Plenty.
DSA doesn’t start at the top. It wins legislative seats and city councils, then builds from there.
Just look at Zohran Mamdani. He’s a DSA member who went from the New York State Assembly to the New York City mayor’s office.
Vinny Spotleson told us who he is. He says he’s not hiding anything.
Good. Neither am I.
I’m running on common sense, safe streets, and keeping more of your paycheck in your pocket.
You get to decide which of us you want representing Assembly District 41.
