Gov. Lombardo Endorses Blayne Osborn for Assembly District 39 – Time for Ken Gray to Step Aside

Last night at a meeting between Governor Lombardo and northern Nevada Republican leaders, the Governor endorsed Assemblyman Blayne Osborn’s candidacy for Assembly District 39.

A lifelong resident of District 39, Blayne has 20 years experience in Carson City as a legislative aid, advocate, and businessman. He is also the incumbent Assemblyman for District 39.

Blayne pledges to fight for voter ID, election integrity, America First, quality healthcare access, and to block the “woke” agenda of the left. Blayne also wants to end California’s monopoly on Nevada fuel prices.

Ken Gray had hoped to get the endorsement. After all, when he was in the Assembly he was a steadfast conservative vote.

The problem is Ken’s lack of tenacity. When he was a Lyon County Commissioner Ken resigned to run for the state Assembly. When he was an Assemblyman Ken resigned to take a job in the Trump administration. Less than a year into that job, Ken resigned again.

Before he went to Washington, Ken took Blayne around, introducing him as his hand-picked successor. Over the next year District 39 Republicans got to know Blayne. They prepared to support his election campaign in 2026.

When Ken quit his Trump administration job, he announced he was running for his old position. This means he will oppose his hand-picked successor–whom Ken had heartily endorsed. More than a few Republicans feel Ken is stabbing his hand-picked successor in the back.

Sometimes athletes play past the time they should retire. Muhammad Ali, Patrick Ewing, and Michel Vick come to mind.

Ken also comes to mind. He has been a reliable MAGA vote; however, it is also time for Ken to hand the baton to the next generation. Ken should graciously withdraw his candidacy and do what the Governor did–endorse Blayne Osborne for District 39 Assemblyman.
